How CBD can help your skin

Is your skin getting you down? Or, are you just intrigued to try this buzz ingredient which is being talked about non-stop in the beauty world?

CBD’s anti-inflammatory benefits can help to combat not only inflammation, but dry skin and damage from free radicals.

Read on to learn how CBD could be the answer to all your skin needs and how Inflamade’s Deep Healing CBD Cream could help you.

I’m new to this, what is CBD?

Cannabidiol, otherwise known as CBD, is a natural compound found in cannabis and hemp plants. Its anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties can be added to everything from beauty products, to food, to the creams and tinctures you find here at Inflamade. Unlike tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is found in the same plants, it does not have psychoactive events, i.e. it won’t make you ‘high.’

So how can CBD help my skin?

From acne and eczema to psoriasis and rosacea, studies have shown that CBD can potentially benefit those with skin problems and help with overall skin health because of its anti-inflammatory properties.

In a 2020 study, CBD was shown to potentially reduce excess sebum, leading it to be effective in combating inflammatory acne, reduce breakouts and calm rosacea flare-ups.

For those who are looking to soothe their eczema, a 2019 study showed that CBD can also help them. CBD was shown to do this by combating the symptoms of irritation and inflammation caused by eczema.

In addition, the powerful adaptogenic nature of CBD may help to get to the root of your skin conditions, in particular reducing the effects and release of stress hormones in your body. See study here for further information.

Finally, if you experience dry skin, the hydrating properties of CBD could be the answer you’ve been looking for as indicated in this 2019 study.

The research into the benefits of CBD is still ongoing and many questions still surround this and other cannabis compounds however, the Professor of Dermatology at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Adam Friedman, MD, notes that, “For all intents and purposes, the safety concerns for these CBD products are nil.”
