Cannabis vs. Hemp
Imagine them cousins. "Cannabis" and "hemp" are technically the same species of plant, there are essentially two types of cannabis plants in the botanical world: industrial hemp plants and cannabis plants.
We can imagine "hemp" as the modern plant and "pot" as the psychoactive plant. Plants that are grown for fiber and seed oil make up industrial plants. Industrial Hemp also contains therapeutic CBD, and trace amounts of THC. Cannabis plants incorporate high levels of the inebriating cannabinoid THC, and also contain the cannabinoid CBD.
High THC Cannabis can be grown indoor, in a greenhouse, or outdoor. Rich CBD Hemp is usually grown outdoors and is made into various items like paper, fabric, and palatable oil, while the leaves processed to extract the CBD Oil made for popular CBD pain creams, CBD gummies, and CBD tinctures.
In contrast, High THC plants are typically grown from clones whether in soil or hydroponically, amongst a few other forms. The flowers are harvested by hand, dried, trimmed, and cured for a few weeks. They are then consumed for their, elating, sedating, and restorative impacts.
It's no myth that both plants have fallen subject to unfair government rulings around the world. History won't repeat itself, and the times are changing.
Is CBD legal? The 2018 Farm Bill removed hemp from the legal definition of marijuana in the Controlled Substances Act, its first change since the 1937 Marihuana Duty Act. This made some hemp-derived CBD products with less than 0.3% THC federally legal to a limit, with CBD products containing more than 0.3% THC still fall under the legal definition of marijuana, making them federally illegal, yet legal under other state laws. Be sure to check state laws, especially when traveling.
Globally, there are many countries you can access legal marijuana, and while LA or New York City may feel like other countries, there is a dispensary or corner store on just about every block, just follow your nose.
Hemp can be used for paper, for fuel, it can be used to build, you can make clothing out of it. Sustainable Packaging and other recyclables are also made from Hemp.
Hemp can change the world.
Not only can we make healing medicinal products from CBD, but the rest of the plant can be used for fuel, clothing, building structural environments, and also it absorbs more carbon dioxide (6 Tons per acre) than any other plant.
To think, with so many benefits, to have been illegal for so long around the world while cigarettes can be purchased over the counter in every single country, should incite public outrage.
Cannabis can also change the world.
Imagine you had a dream... all the sudden you were in a room with Trump and Obama, who were sitting in a circle next to Putin and Xi. Macron awaits the joint from Kim Jong who just received it from Cheech and Chong. Delegates from other African Countries, Middle East, Australia and South America fill pass around room joints. Cannabis filled Hookahs fill the sections of the room.
No. One. Is. Going. To. War.
Peace is the answer, cannabis can help.
Back to reality, Cannabis is only used for its THC and CBD benefits and euphoric feelings.
There are over 500 different strains, and each strain will make you feel a specific way.
The Do Si Dos pictured above is an Indica leaning hybrid that will activate your mind sending you far off, but localized if you want to be. At the same time your body radiates with good feelings, removing pain and helping you get to a deep sleep eventually.
While a Blue Dream, which is a Sativa Leaning Hybrid will not only give you new, exciting thoughts, but it will lightly relax your body. Making it a great strain for outdoor activities like hikes or beach days, but also rendering itself useful for creative working as well.
Strains like Durban Poison act like a coffee, surprising the appetite while energizing the body and activating the mind.
White Buffalo (pictured below) will entice hunger, keep you energized, euphorically optimistic, while relieving pain and providing for a happy time.
Again, 500 different flowers, 500 different feelings and effects.
And, Everyone. Is. Different.
So, our bodies will react in a similar yet different fashion for each strain.
Experiencing cannabis is a completely personal matter, and the restrictions put in place around the plant prevent most of the world from properly benefitting from the plant.
Cannabis products range from flower, to chocolates and bon bons. Vapes, resin, rosin, wax, gummy rings, gummy strips, gum, cannabis drinks, transdermal patches, creams, are among the many ways to consume and enjoy cannabis.
CBD products range from Pain Creams, to bath bombs, Vegan CBD Gummies, CBD Oils, CBD Waters, CBD Vapes, and even CBD Pet Treats. Both play a key role in naturally aiding the body to wellbeing, improved mood, and better sleep and can be a great alternative to prescription drugs and pain killers.
